I came across a very interesting (and entertaining) read on the official forums this morning. It was interesting enough that a Blue poster commented on it, which was, in fact, how it drew my attention in the first place. On a lark, I spent some time playing EQ2 this weekend, more for just a change of scenery than anything else. I played the original EQ (though not for very long and not very seriously), dropped it like a bad habit when WoW came out, and never looked back. Well, this weekend my curiosity got the better of me and I decided to take EQ2 for a test drive. I’d like to spend some time today talking about the different things I noticed between the two games.

While browsing the official forums this morning, I came across a very interesting thread discussing raid DPS and how the performance of the various top-DPS specs for each class compare across the first bosses of Icecrown Citadel and Trial of the Crusader (25-Man versions). The purpose of the compilation of this data was to illuminate the disparity between the performance of various classes in an attempt to identify weaknesses that Blizzard could potentially fix to bring about balance across the board.
