Hunter Hall of Fame: Ranchero, Drenden-US

ranch_gondria

Congratulations to our latest inductee into the Hunter Hall of Fame, Ranchero of the Drenden-US server, alt of Darkbrew, whom you may recognize from The Brew Hall and the Hunting Party Podcast.

Ranchero, Drenden-US

Ranchero has spent his whole life living in the shadow of Darkbrew. Today he is the blue-headed stepchild no more as he has accomplished something that Darkbrew could not even dream of – taming all four spirit beasts. And the best part is he didn’t have to sacrifice his first born child or spend hours camping spawn locations. Nope, pretty much each one of these tames was a matter of right place, right time.

Loque’nahak

Gondria

Skoll

Loque’Nahak, Skoll and Gondria were all pretty pedestrian tames. Arcturus was the only one where I ran into any trouble.

Arcturis

On a whim I decided to fly from Dalaran to Amberpine Lodge to see if I could find him. Amazingly enough he was there, and so was another hunter. It turned out the other hunter was level 74 and not BM spec’d. Since I knew he couldn’t tame him I began the process; trap dropped, tame started. A few seconds into it I hear the bang-bang of a gun and my trap breaks. The other hunter was attacking him.

Fortunately he was a very bad hunter. It turns out that before he realized he couldn’t tame Arcturus he abandoned his current pet. With out a pet Arcturus was in melee range giving him a real beat-down. He feigned death barely scratching Arcturus. At this point the other hunter’s health was so low he knew he it was pointless to try attacking again. With my trap on CD I just went ahead and started taming him, taking my lumps. Twenty seconds and few bruises later I had my spirit beast.

Keep an eye out next week for our next inductee into the Hunter Hall of Fame. If you’ve tamed all four Spirit Beasts and would like to be entered into the Hall of Fame, check out this post for more details.

What I find sad is that you feel it’s necessary to puff up your own sense of self-importance by belittling the achievements of others. Rather than congratulate someone for doing something, you would rather denigrate them. Rather share in someone’s victory, you seek to deny it. You make enemies where you could have made friends. That is the saddest thing of all.

And that’s not even taking into account the fact that I post these submissions in the order in which they were received. For all you know, I could have had this sitting in my inbox for months and just didn’t post it until now. Well played, sir.
