As you move up in levels, you’ll have more talent choices available to you and all new instances and items to choose from. Our previous two articles discussed gear for levels 10-20 and 21-30. Today, we’ll talk about items for levels 31-40. These are the last levels you’ll be seeking primarily Leather items, since you’ll be training in Mail armor at level 40 and you can start phasing remaining Leather pieces out.
Armor
Branded Leather Bracers – These bracers drop from High Inquisitor Fairbanks in the Scarlet Monastery (Cathedral).
Shadowskin Gloves – These gloves are crafted by Leatherworkers and while the materials are a bit uncommon, the price shouldn’t be too high. (If it is, try finding or purchasing the materials yourself and have them crafted for you as sometimes these gloves can be priced somewhat high.) The extra 2% crit is a very nice bonus.
Gauntlets of Divinity – Drop from Scarlet Commander Mograine in the Scarlet Monastery (Cathedral).
Oilskin Leggings – These legs drop from Grimlok in Uldaman.
Jangdor’s Handcrafted Boots/Pratt’s Handcrafted Boots – These boots are quest rewards from The Mark of Quality (Horde/Alliance).
The Nightscape Set – If you’re having trouble with drops, I’d definitely suggest checking the Auction House for pieces of the Nightscape set. The pieces are crafted by Leatherworkers, and can often be found for relatively cheap because they’re commonly used by Leatherworkers for leveling up their skill. There are no set bonuses for collecting pieces of the set, but they are very decent pieces:
Comfortable Leather Hat – This hat is crafted by Leatherworkers using relatively common materials, so the price shouldn’t be too high. The extra 3.5% Hit is extremely helpful at lower levels.
Mark of Kern – This ring is a zone drop in Scarlet Monastery. Because it’s bind-on-equip, you should be able to pick it up from the Auction House if you’re not lucky enough to see it drop.
Raptor Eye Ring – This ring is a quest reward from Wanted: Goreclaw the Ravenous in Dustwallow Marsh.
Medal of Courage – This necklace is a quest reward from Saving Yenniku (Horde) or The Lost Tablets of Will (Alliance).
Weapons
Loksey’s Training Stick – Drops from Houndmaster Loksey in the Scarlet Monastery (Library).
Vanquisher’s Sword – Quest reward from Bring the End (Horde) or Bring the Light (Alliance).
Grimlok’s Charge – Drops from Grimlok in Uldaman.
Baelog’s Shortbow – Drops from Baelog in Uldaman.
Monolithic Bow – This bind-on-equip bow is a zone drop in Uldaman.
Manslayer – This bind-on-equip two-hander is a zone drop in Razorfen Downs.
Steelclaw Reaver – This bind-on-equip one-handed axe is a zone drop in Scarlet Monastery.
