Your Favorite UI

The THM Forums has a thread going that just about every gaming forum has: the Post Your UI! thread. Part of the reason the thread exists is because, yes, it’s tradition. However, part of that is because I genuinely enjoy seeing how different players construct their interfaces. Long-term visitors know I’m a huge add-on junkie and I’m always looking for new ways to streamline and improve my UI.

Here’s just a few examples of my various UI set-ups just in the past couple months:

And my current UI:

And, as I said, that’s only over the past couple months (I switched computers just before Wrath and haven’t bothered to pull my old screenies off my old computer yet). There are, as you can see, a few add-ons that I simply refuse to play without. Omen, Recount, Fubar, Grid and ElkBuffBars are among those.

What’s your UI look like, and what add-ons are “must-haves” for you? You can post your UIs in the comments, or head on over to the Post Your UI thread on the forums and show off your interface.

I really like the minimalist look in your current setup — it’s very simple and elegant, but everything you need is right there. What addon are you using to get your map at the bottom center of your screen? And which bar mod do you use?

I like the last one the most. It reminds me of a setup that Howitzer had. Anyway, I’m most interested in what is giving you the gray bar at the bottom, and how you contoured you and your pets avatar. Everything else I think I can replicate, but it would be nice to have a mod list to see what you are using to create the effects. Its very clean…I like it.

@Enix and @Tyberiuss — The answer to both is SpartanUI. It did the vast majority of the work for my current UI. The only things I’ve added were FuBar (and various Fubar add-ons), Omen, Recount, Grid, Prat, ElkBuffBars and MonkeyQuest. The rest was all part of SpartanUI.

Thanks, Lassirra. I might have to break my no-new-UI-till-the-next-patch rule to play with Spartan. It’s jawdropping.

My base is a mix of FuBar, Xperl and BT4, along with Auctioneer, Omen, Recount and Bagnon. I tried Elk’s a while back but could never find a good home for it because I could never figure out what to do with the map. In the top right, with the map at bottom center like you have it, seems just about right.

What sort of compromises have you made (or have you?) in filling up your bars? Even with macros that combine some keybinds, I find on my hunter that I’ve managed to fill seven bars, and it looks like Spartan has only 4 (or maybe 5) bars. Is there a bar there that’s not visible? Or were you ruthless in cutting buttons to a minimum?

@Enix — Spartan uses BT4 and actually has 6 bars set into the design by default. I did some minor rearranging of abilities, but was able to fit all the “essentials” just fine.
