I’ve finally gotten Lass copied over and my client set up properly, so this afternoon I’ve been spending some time poking around on the PTR. Now, I haven’t had much time on there to accomplish a whole lot, but I did manage to get a peek at some of the new pet talents coming in 3.1.
All Trees
All pets (regardless of type) will have access to one new talent:
Wild Hunt: Increases the contribution your pets get from your Stamina by 20%/40% and attack power by 20%/40%.

This two rank talent comes at the bottom of each tree, below Call of the Wild, Roar of Sacrifice and Wolverine Bite. The rank one contribution from both Stamina and attack power is 20% while rank two provides 40%. Prerequisites for taking Wild Hunt are Spider’s Bite and Call of the Wild in Ferocity, Grace of the Mantis and Roar of Sacrifice in Tenacity and Avoidance and Wolverine Bite in Cunning, as well as 15 points already spent.
Ferocity
There is one new talent being added to the Ferocity tree in 3.1:
Shark Attack: Your pet does an additional 3%/6% damage with all attacks.

This two rank talent comes at the bottom of the Ferocity tree, below Rabid. Rank one provides a 3% damage increase while rank two provides a 6% damage increase. There are no specific prerequisite talents you need to have to take Shark Attack, only a minimum of 15 points already spent.
Tenacity
Silverback: Your pet’s Growl also heals it for 1%/2% of its total health.

This two rank talent comes at the end of the Tenacity tree, below Taunt. Rank one allows your pet’s Growl ability to heal it for 1% of its total health and rank two allows Growl to heal your pet for 2% of its total health. There are no prerequisite talents you need to take Silverback, only a minimum of 15 points already spent.
Cunning
The Cunning tree doesn’t have any “new” talents, pre se, (aside from Wild Hunt) but instead has had two talents from the Tenacity tree added to it:
- Grace of the Mantis
- Roar of Sacrifice
These two talents have been added below Feeding Frenzy. Grace of the Mantis is in the same tier as Bullheaded, Roar of Recovery and Wolverine Bite, while Roar of Sacrifice is on the next tier down along with Wild Hunt.

This information came directly from my cat, gorilla and bird of prey’s talent windows. I’m not yet sure if there are or will be variations depending on the specific family of pet you have or not.

My wife will love to see those changes! Sounds like her PrettyKitty will continue to get the love in raids.
