I was recently tagged by Kestrel in a meme making the rounds of the WoW Blogosphere. While I’m not generally one for memes (I enjoy the social aspects of them, but usually have other things I’d rather talk about here), I’m always willing to oblige Kes because he’s seriously just that awesome.
(And if you’re not a regular reader of his blog, you damn well should be.)

Here’s the idea: Go back to your first few posts. Who was the first person to EVER comment on your blog? Call them out, link that post and thank them! Then tag a few folks to see who they call out.
Now, before I even dug into the THM Archives for this, I had a pretty good idea of who the Original Commenter may have been. Matter of fact, I recall the beginning days of THM rather clearly and look back on them fondly for a number of reasons. But, for the sake of accuracy, I went looking and here’s what I found.
The first post to ever appear on THM was posted on December 5, 2006 and was a discussion of the release of the 2.0 patch. However, I didn’t receive my first comment until January 26, 2007 on an article entitled “ItemStats Installed” which was really just a test post to try out a new WordPress plugin I’d installed.
My first commenter turned out to be Amanna of Adventures in Azeroth, a druid blog I read rather avidly back then. Unfortunately, since then it appears that Amanna has fallen off the planet or something. (Actually, I think Amanna quit playing due to personal reasons.) Amanna commented to ask me how I got the WoW Item tooltips working. 
Looking back at the conversation we had in the comments (which was brief)… I was such a cute blogging noob, lol.
Okay, time to tag someone else! Kinless. I’ve been reading the Chronicles since long before I ever started THM, and always return to his tales to see how things have progressed, so a trip down memory lane would be fun to read.
I think most other folks have already been tagged by someone or other, so I’ll leave it at that.

I know not everyone is always up for an internet meme, but I’m glad so many are taking part in this particular one. Thanking those that pushed us and really encouraged us to keep blogging…really means more than most ever say out loud. Good to see you pulled out some memories of your own and I’ll be sure to bound over to the ones you linked as well!
I think the one thing I love most about this is that I’m finding so many new blogs from blog-hopping!
