Gear Enhancements for Hunters: Gems (Wrath Edition)

With the raising of profession level caps and the addition of new designs and items, my previous article on Hunter gems has become woefully out of date. Time for a face-lift! You’re no doubt thirsty for a Big Gulp o’ Gem Info, and who am I to disappoint? I did briefly discuss Northrend gems that would be of interest to Hunters in a previous article, but the information available to us has since been significantly fleshed out and, of course, this is a subject that deserves an article all it’s own, if for no other reason than for ease of reference. So, without further ado, lets see what we’ve got!

These gems are new to the game, and it should be noted that a player can only have 3 prismatic gems equipped at a time, and only Jewelcrafters can use them.

The uncut Dragon’s Eyes can be purchased from Tiffany Cartier in Dalaran (where other Jewelcrafting patterns are purchased).

It is also worth noting that “Perfect” cuts of all Jewelcrafter gems are available as a random proc from the profession itself, and Perfect cuts offer an increase to the stats of the gem (by 1).
