By now, we should all be familiar with the usefulness of WoW Web Stats
when it comes to improving your raid performance. However, there are a couple of fundamental usability flaws:
- You’re bound to forget to parse raid data
- You’re bound to forget to separate raid data every time
These problems, while inconvenient, are not insurmountable. Minimal effort on your part will actually have you up and running in no time!
You Forget to Parse the Data
Remembering to type /combatlog every time you zone into a raid instance is a pain in the arse. There’s a better solution, my friends!
Meet LoggerHead:
LoggerHead is a an automated combat log enabler. It allows you to select via a simple GUI interface which Zones and Instances to automatically enable for logging. Works for PvP/Arenas as well!
Set up your options once, LoggerHead will remember them (I think you only have to set it on one toon to have it work for all characters on the same realm, but I could be wrong) and record your combat log automatically every time you zone into an instance you’ve told it to record.
You Forget to Split Your Log
This was, by far, my biggest problem. Because LoggerHead logs automatically, it’s “set it and forget it”, and I definitely forgot it. So, any time anyone asked me for a report, I’d have to sort through, line by line, about a month’s worth of raids and break up the data so WWS could parse the report.
/sigh
A quick spin through the WWS forums fixed that, though. (Gee… who knew forums were like… useful?)
Tak0r has kindly put together a Combatlog Splitter for the masses. Download the file, run the splitter. It will automatically save your split reports for you, and then you can toss the individual reports into the WWS client.
Wa la!

Thank you! I use LoggerHead but hadn’t heard about Combatlog Splitter.

Thanks! A combat log splitter is just what I could use, due to my unwillingness to split logs by hand. I’ll give LoggerHead a spin as a maintained alternative to AutoCL.

Good stuff, Lass!! I keep telling myself I am going to get into WWS (because no one else in my guild does) but those two things are what has been keeping me from it. Guess I have no more excuses, eh? :p

Granted i only run the wws for raids but the 2.4 client it automatically archives the combat log after you upload clearing it out of the wow folder so you don’t have to worry about it also.

Fantastic! A combat log splitter is *exactly* what I’ve been after, thanks Lass!!
