Those who visit the site directly (as opposed to reading via RSS) will have noticed that the world’s longest sidebar poll was removed: the votes are in and we have a winner! We received a total of 699 votes, and the winning pet received 182 votes. Now, the fun begins!
We’ll need to select the perfect visual representation of our winning pet: the cat. Below are images of the cat models within the game that we can use; however, readers may also submit their own renderings!
If you’re the artistic sort and would like to submit your own possible THM Mascot, email your submission to thehuntersmark[at]gmail[dot]com. We’ll be deciding on a model at the end of the week, but if you find that’s not enough time to finish your drawing, send us an email to let us know and we’ll extend the deadline. I’d like to make sure we give folks plenty of time to finish.
Now, your drawings can be based on any of the models shown below, or you can make up one of your own. Submissions will be posted for readers to choose from once we’ve received all of them. For now, though, here are the game models we have to work with. Let us know which is your favorite in the comments!

Option 7. My personal Favorite, had one since Bc came out, that very same colour.
You are missing a few cats. The lynxes are absent, as well as the purple stripey moonstalker, the spotted moonstalker, and the ghost saber.
I would like to make a write-in submission for the new spirit beast model of Skoll, since that option wasn’t available when the poll was started.
Yes, there are some cats missing. It took a considerable amount of time to prepare images for the models I had available, and some I simply couldn’t find (at least not source images that would suit my needs). Nowhere was it said, “this is it, this is everything”, I was simply providing a few examples. I had assumed that, for any models that were left out that were someone’s choice, they would simply reply with something along the lines of:
“I like Cat X better”
Particularly given the fact that I had also mentioned art submissions would be posted later. I also didn’t want a post comprised solely of images to end up being a mile long. Post too many, people complain; post too few, people complain. I decided to err on the side of caution.
(Nit-picking, as you may have noticed, is a pet peeve of mine.)
I would have to say Option 2 or Option 5 are my personal favorites. I’ve tamed both, and loved them.
As my highest level hunter (NE) has tamed many cats over time, but only kept Echeyakee – vote #5 (It was hard to boot #6 though!) Favorite cat model just the different colors.
Option 6 FTW! I got Humar the Pridelord on my hunter back when that skin was actually hard to get. Beautiful while still cool. Option 6 all the way!
Option 1! Number 1 is clearly the best, since you put it as number 1

i like #10 but i would, for this site, go with option 11 because I know it hasnt been used as a cat pet mascot by another blog yet.
Option 8. Gotta love all that tigery goodness!
i fell in love with Option 7 as soon as I rolled my first draenei hunter, but when I got to STV, I realised I could have the same thing, but chock full of TIGERY AWESOMENESS!!!

Option 6 for me. Humar all the way. Have this one when the Black Lion colour was unique in the game.
wait i change myn to option 2 because of the fact that it so rare you cant get it anymore. now theres a feat worth writing about.
Cats with the Option 2 skin are still tameable.

I’ve still got my King Bangalash in the stables, which I’ve had since vanilla.
I feel I have to remain faithful to option 7 as I started playing wow very early 2006. Tamed my Mist who was an Elder Nightsaber (so old when I go her) and been together ever since. My poor bag puss only just recently passed away though and came back a spirit beast, so not all bad.
Just as an interesting side note though, the game doesn’t store pets by skin but by what you originally tamed. I logged on during a lag spike last year and instead of it showing “Unknown” or “Mist” it told me that my pets name was “Elder Nightsaber”.
