Macros are always a common topic of discussion on many sites scattered around the web, and players are always looking for simple solutions to seemingly complex problems. There are macros for almost anything you’d like to do in-game, and they’re there to make life easier for you if only you could find them! Macros help clean up the clutter from your action bars, automate common tasks, and help improve your in-game performance. Today, I’d like to share some macros you shouldn’t play without!
Whether you enjoy casual or hardcore play, PvE or PvP, there are macros out there to help make life easier on you.
PvP
1. Master’s Call Mouseover
#showtooltip Master’s Call
/cast [target=mouseover, help] Master’s Call
/cast [target=player] Master’s Call
As you might imagine, this macro makes using Master’s Call a bit easier by allowing you to use it on yourself or your mouseover target.
2. Roar of Sacrifice/Intervene
/cast [target=mouseover, help] Roar of Sacrifice
/cast [target=player] Roar of Sacrifice
/cast [target=mouseover, help] Intervene
/cast [target=player] Intervene
Use your pet’s Roar of Sacrifice or Intervene abilities on yourself or your mouseover target.
3. Scatter Mouseover/Focus
#showtooltip Scatter Shot
/cast [target=mouseover, harm] Scatter Shot
/cast [target=focus, modifier:alt] Scatter Shot
This macro will cast Scatter Shot at your mouseover or nearest harmful target. By pressing ALT (or whatever modifier you choose to specify) and hitting this macro, you can cast Scatter Shot at your focus target. (Just don’t forget to specify an enemy player as your focus!)
4. Scare Beast Mouseover/Focus
#showtooltip Scare Beast
/cast [target=mouseover, harm] Scare Beast
/cast [target=focus, modifier:alt] Scare Beast
Particularly handy against Feral Druids, this macro will cast Scare Beast at your mouseover or nearest harmful target. By pressing ALT and hitting this macro, you can cast Scare Beast at your focus target instead.

PvE
5. Misdirection
#showtooltip
/cast [target=focus, help] Misdirection
/cast [target=focustarget, help] Misdirection
/cast [target=target, help] Misdirection
/cast [target=targettarget, help] Misdirection
/cast [target=pet, nodead, exists] Misdirection
This macro will first attempt to cast Misdirection on your focus target. If it can’t (for example, if your focus target is hostile) then it will attempt to cast Misdirection on the target of your focus. If it can’t do that, it will then attempt to cast Misdirection on your current target. Failing that, it will then attempt to cast Misdirection on your target’s target. If it can’t do that, then it will cast Misdirection on your pet if it’s out and alive.
6. All-Purpose Pet Macro
#showtooltip
/cast [nopet, modifier:ctrl] Tame Beast
/cast [combat] Heart of the Phoenix
/cast [nopet] Call Pet; [target=pet, dead] Revive Pet
/castsequence [target=pet] reset=15 Mend Pet, null
/cast [modifier:shift] Dismiss Pet
If you don’t have a pet, press CTRL to tame your target as your pet. If you’re in combat (and your pet has Heart of the Phoenix – otherwise, leave this line out), cast Heart of the Phoenix. If you don’t have a pet out, it will call your pet, or if your pet is dead it will Revive it. It will also Mend your pet (and has a built in timer so you don’t overlap mends), or SHIFT-clicking the macro will dismiss your pet.
7. Aspect Swapping
#showtooltip
/castsequence !Aspect of the Dragonhawk, !Aspect of the Viper
Pretty self-explanatory: one button swap between AotDH and AotV.

Very nice, except the Kill Shot macro has been disabled in 3.1
Also you should mention the pet autocast macro:
/petautocastoff Lick Your Wounds
/petautocastoff Cower
those are still bugged for me on PTR

You can’t macro kill-shot into all your shots in 3.1? UT OH!

Ya…..I heard that they were changing that. I hope that THM will post the new macros after the patch drops. Although I personally don’t use that many macros currently, I have in the past and may in the future. Here is hoping that we still are able too.

Lovely macros! I’m already using three of them now.
Thanks for these, they’ll come in handy.

For the Aimed/Kill shot macro maybe make it
#showtooltip Kill Shot instead so it lights up when Kill Shot is available?
Well actually I’m not sure. I don’t often watch boss health like a hawk, but when my Kill Shot button lights up I notice it.

/petattack
/cast Hunter’s Mark

I like number 6.
I use the castsequense macro:
#showtooltip
/castsequence disengage, concussive shot, freezing trap, reset=25
this macro you can allways stop midway. as soon as disengage is of cooldown it will reset.
But i will include wing clip as the first spell so it will be
#Showtooltip
/castsequence wing clip, disengage, concussive shot, freezing trap, reset=25
This way I might be able to “save” the concussive shot til the wing clip effect ware off.

Lass,
Tried the macro listed as Disengage and Wing Clip. It popped errors every time, so I rewrote the code and it stopped throwing errors and works fine.
#showtooltip Disengage
/console Sound_EnableSFX 0
/stopcasting;
/cast Wing Clip
/cast Raptor Strike
/cast Disengage
/console Sound_EnableSFX 1

I love this one for starting a fight:
/cast !Aspect of the Dragonhawk
/cast Hunter’s Mark
/petattack
Makes sure you always have Hunter’s Mark up and don’t start a fight in Viper.

Number 7 won’t work- you can’t trigger two trinkets at once. I macroed one of my trinkets to BW anyway though, thanks!
