Now that we’ve done this once already, the process should be a bit smoother, eh? I’m going to post a quick summary of the posts we’ve seen from round two here, with links to each article (as well as links to each other’s previous post), and you’ll be able to select two more authors to vote off Hunter Island.
Now, because a few submissions received decidedly waspish comments this round, apparently this is more important to reiterate than I previously thought: keep your comments respectful! I’m not in the mood to tolerate jerks here. My authors have worked hard, and deserve courtesy at the very least. Constructive criticism is one thing. Being a douche is quite another. I trust you to be able to discern the difference. If you can’t, I’ll start deleting comments (which is not something I’m fond of doing). That unpleasant business having been taken care of, lets get started!
Our Contestants
1. Gwolf
This round, Gwolf was assigned a guide article to Heroic Violet Hold. He gave us a quick run-through of the possible bosses that could spawn and how to deal with them, as well as a look at some of the loot we may have to look forward to from this instance. Gwolf’s first article, from round one, can be found here.
2. Qwikshot
Qwikshot was a late addition to the contest, joining us in round two as a substitute poster. I had a couple folks that were voted on to round two drop out and so I found myself with a couple assignments to fill. Qwikshot was kind enough to send me a very enthusiastic email explaining his interest in participating, and so I passed one of my open assignments on to him. You’ll find his first submission, a guide to Heroic Utgarde Pinnacle here.
3. Chris
Chris’s assignment for round two was to walk us through Heroic Utgarde Keep. While this instance is arguably one of the easiest and most straight-forward heroics available, Chris was able to spice things up a bit for us with a sly reference to one of my favorite movies. You’ll find his Heroic Utgarde Keep guide here, and his submission from round one is available here.
4. Imjorman
My second round two substitution, Imjorman was kind enough to take on my open Heroic Drak’Tharon Keep assignment. Like Qwikshot, Imjorman sent me a belated but very enthusiastic email expressing his interest in participating in the contest, and with folks from round one dropping like flies on a Tauren patty, who was I to deny him? You’ll find his first submission to the contest here.
5. Sabiba
Sabiba’s assignment this round was to take us on a journey through Heroic Ahn’kahet, one of the most difficult heroics to new 80s available. In this article, Sabiba walks us through a couple quick quests to pick up to prepare for Ahn’kahet, as well as the bosses we’ll encounter and some loot we might be interested. You can find this round’s submission here, and Sabiba’s submission from round one here.
6. Dervisch
This was a last-minute edit to this post, so pay close attention! After bungling things rather badly, I received a comment on the original version of this post (which you’ll find below) showing that Dervisch had actually submitted his assignment for round two on time, but I simply missed it. So, I’ve posted his guide to Heroic Azjol-Nerub and reset the voting poll. You’ll find his first round submission here.
Voting
Just with last time, you’ll sellect two authors to vote off Hunter Island this round, using the poll below. The poll will remain open until Friday, at which point voting will officially be closed and results will be sent out to my authors so we can begin round three, the final round!
Remember, keep your comments courteous. I was disappointed to see a couple folks who couldn’t keep a civil tongue in their mouths surface during this round, so I’m in no mood to be lenient here. I will delete comments that I find are a tad too harsh. Bash me, if you will, or provide constructive criticism to my authors, but I will not tolerate folks being mean to my authors. They’ve worked very hard, and they’re new at this and still learning. Unless you think you can do better and are willing to put your money where your mouth is, be kind to them. This is something I’m prepared to get assy about if need be, lol. You’ve been warned! Play nice, or mommy’s pulling this car over!
Now, on to what you’ve all been waiting for: the poll!
Select TWO authors to vote OFF Hunter Island!
- Gwolf (57%, 13 Votes)
- Qwikshot (43%, 10 Votes)
- Sabiba (39%, 9 Votes)
- Dervisch (22%, 5 Votes)
- Imjorman (22%, 5 Votes)
- Chris (-83%, 1 Votes)
Total Voters: 23

You all did a good job on the posts and I commend you on sticking with it. As 2 of the 5 are new to the process, I decided not to review the older posts and only vote given the current write-ups.
Sorry for not commenting on the original articles from round 2. (vacation) HGmm, this is a tough call. I think I’ll vote later this week, once I really sit down and go through them. REally good quality on them all this round! I really like the varied styles, and everyone had positive points to the entries…
Hmmm indeed…..
Lassira, I tried contacting you three times, but I never recieved an email in return. I replied to the address that you used to send me emails, so I’m not sure why there was a breakdown in communications. Alas, I would have enjoyed being able to move foward. I didn’t want to seem pushy and rude… I thought that maybe you had decided I wasn’t good enough but didn’t want to be mean. Can you check and see if my emails ended up in your spam folder?
For some reason I cannot log onto your forums, this blog or anything else >.< so I didn’t have another way to contact you.
@Dervisch — Oh no! I just thought you disappeared on me, hehe. I’ll dig around and see what I can find. I can’t imagine why your first email might’ve gotten through but the rest didn’t. So odd! Let me see what I can dig up, and we’ll find a work around. I’d hate to see you ass-out just because email failed.
@Lassirra – And of adding Dervisch’s article back – one thing that can be said about you – you are the most fair minded person I have ever had the pleasure of reading their blog.
What a brillant idea “Hunter’s Island”. – I haven’t voted yet – coming back from a medical hiatus. I will be back tonight to read everything.
@Sigrdrífa — Well, I hope it was fair… I guess maybe some might disagree, but having so little experience with overseeing something of this nature, I’m kind of flying by the seat of my pants and hoping for the best, heh.
@Lassirra I cannot decide who to vote for to continue or not to continue. Not one thing stands out and smacks me in the face as to why I should vote to cut someone. So, my friend, I will read and not comment (well, that is not a promise, lol), thanking all of these folks for their thoughtful insight to these instances. I don’t envy any of your readers in this decision process.
