That’s right, boys and girls, it’s that time of year again: Brewfest! From September 20th to October 4th, Azeroth celebrates that most lively and boistrous of beverage-bearing holidays. This year, however, there have been some marked changes from the previous year’s festivities.

Mounts

Last year, players acquired their own Brewfest Rams by completeing a variety of daily quests which awarded tokens to be turned in for a hand stamp that allowed players to purchase their shiny new (and slightly drunk yet surprisingly robust) rams. This year, rather than diligently completeing an assortment of daily quests (like you weren’t already doing enough of those), players will instead take on the new Brewfest Boss in hopes of acquiring a brand new steed.

Akin to the Ahune encounter of the last Midsummer Fire Festival, players will face Coren Direbrew in Blackrock Depths as the Brewfest Boss that drops the coveted Great Brewfest Kodo and Swift Brewfest Ram.

Prizes

As you would expect, participating in the festivities also awards a variety of novelty prizes and treats for players to enjoy. The prizes available include:

• Brewfest Pony Keg – 100 Tokens
• Wolpertinger’s Tankard – 50 Silver
• Preserved Brewfest Hops – 20 Tokens
• “Brew of the Month” Club Membership Form – 200 Tokens

Achievements

In anticipation of the release of Wrath of the Lich King, Brewfest sports a variety of potential achievements which can be unlocked once the expansion has been released. These new achievements include:

• Brewmaster
• Disturbing the Peace
• Does Your Wolpertinger Linger?
• Drunken Stupor
• Have Keg, Will Travel

Brewfest Screenshot/Caption Contest

THM will be hosting it’s own contest to commemorate this year’s Brewfest revelries! The contest consists of two parts, with separate winners for both categories.

Screenshots

The first category of the contest will be for Brewfest screenshots. Your mission:

1. Acquire one of each: Brewfest Hat, Brewfest Dress/Regalia, Brewfest Slippers/Boots
2. Acquire a Great Brewfest Kodo
3. Take your screenshot!

Captions

The second category of the contest will be completed once the screenshots portion of the contest has ended. Your mission:

1. View the screenshot submissions
2. Submit your own caption for any of the featured screenshots
3. PROFIT!

Rules

Folks that participate in the first part of the contest are ineligible to participate in the second part of the contest. Winners for both categories will be determined by open poll voting here on the site. Submissions for the Screenshot category must not include any aspects of the player’s UI. The deadline for submitting screenshots will be September 27th. The deadline for submitting captions will be October 3rd. Winners will be announced on October 4th.

Contest Prizes

Second-place winners will receive: A “talent and gear” optimization coaching seminar tailored to the player’s character posted here on the site, covering every aspect of the player’s selected character.

Third-place winners will receive: A small guest-appearance on THM’s next audio post.
